Mike Buckley.
Product manager making the complicated feel obvious in hindsight.
I untangle messy problems into simple things people actually use, and write down what I learn along the way.

Four beliefs I work by
- 01
Problems before solutions
The brief behind the brief. I start every piece of work by asking what problem we're actually solving, for whom, and how we'll know we've solved it.
- 02
The smallest useful experiment
If a test can't fail, it isn't a test. I size work so that being wrong is quick, cheap, and nobody's fault but the hypothesis's.
- 03
Users are right, even when they're wrong
What people do beats what they say, and what they struggle with beats both. Research is a habit, not a phase you do before the 'real' work.
- 04
Write it down
Decisions, reversals, and the reasons for both. A good written record is the cheapest memory a team can own.

Problems I've solved
Onboarding that stopped lying
A tour celebrated completion. Completion didn't predict retention.
MarketplaceSearch that found the point
Ranked by recency, failed by intent. The queries knew all along.
Internal toolsThe spreadsheet at the centre of everything
The official tool was ignored. The spreadsheet was the real product.
